Ingredients
Okra, sliced Cooking oil Salt Pepper
Directions
There is no fancy recipe for frying this okra! Use however much okra you want to, and cook in the appropriate sized pan. Slice the okra, then put in pan with oil. You can use your oil of choice. I use olive oil for almost everything, but vegetable, canola or avocado oil will do. You can also fry in lard, if you desire. Cook and stir the okra over medium-high heat until it becomes tender and starts to char. Stir frequently to avoid burning. I always put salt and pepper on the okra after it is cooked, but you can also put it on while it is cooking, if you desire. I have never put vinegar on the okra, which is supposed to minimize the slime. I have never had a slime problem with the okra cooked this way. Enjoy! |
