Lenora
is a member of Alief Baptist Church and seldom attends Sunday service without a hat. When asked why she wore hats, Lenora said she was a preacher's daughter and
wearing hats was a natural thing for her. Her mother, who has gone to be with the LORD, was the First Lady of a church and had many hats which she wore to Sunday
worship. Lenora shares her mother's love of hats and some of the hats that she wears belonged to her mother.
This lady of distinction says that until recently, she wore gloves to church as well.
Although Lenora referred to it as "nothing special", the hat she is wearing in the photograph
above caught the eye of the Church Hat photographer.
