Hats of Character
Wearing hats to church is not a popular thing in today's world, but the women who do continue this custom are worthy of notice.
More likely than not, these women were brought up around elders who dressed for church in full attire,
including hats and gloves. When these women are asked why
they wear hats, almost all have the same answer -- they don't feel fully
dressed for church without a hat.
Women
who wear hats have "hattitude" and know how to wear a hat
well. The hat might actually be a clue to a woman's
character or a woman's particular mood. A woman that wears flamboyant
hats is most likely a woman with flamboyant characteristics, or a woman
with a flamboyant attitude on the day she wears that type of hat. A simple and elegant hat can bring to mind finery, manners, and the mysterious beauty of
womanhood. A hat that is too outrageous will most likely give the impression of someone desperate for attention or someone attempting to cause shock and awe.
Mrs.
Ceola Taylor, featured in this publication of The Church Hat,
believes that men really like women in hats. It would definitely be
interesting to know how men would actually respond to the question of
whether they enjoy seeing a woman wearing a hat or not, especially wearing a hat to
church. Very interesting indeed.
Although the photograph above is not a very good one, the woman wearing the hat gives the
impression of being very classy and refined. Hats definitely make a statement -- either good or bad -- and can reveal quite a bit about the person wearing the
hat.
Hat
designs are available to fit any woman's taste -- from very conservative to plain outrageous. Normally, a woman will have several types of hats in her closet but there
will probably be one particular style that dominates her collection. The dominant hat style will most likely reveal something about the character of the woman who wears
them.
So, it seems there is quite a bit in a hat! And, whether you wear hats or not, take
notice of the women that do.
