Head Size
Some
folks are fortunate to have a head that's just the right size -- not too big and not too small. Those folks usually don't have any trouble finding hats to fit their
heads. On the other hand, folks like me with a head leaning towards the "big" side, are often times disappointed to find that a beautiful hat they would love to
buy is too small.
Believe me, trying to wear a hat that's too tight is very uncomfortable, much like wearing a
pair of shoes that pinch your toes. It is better to buy only hats that fit comfortably. I have made the mistake of buying a hat that was too small, telling myself
that it was only a tad snug. However, after sitting in church for a couple of hours feeling like my head was in a vice left no mistake about it -- that hat was too
little for my head.
Betmar, Liz Claiborne, and Amanda Smith are hat brands that have been
successful fits for me, all purchased at Foley's in downtown Houston. Betmar hats, like the one above, are one of my favorite hats to buy for summer, and they fit
perfectly.
If you have trouble finding hats that fit, never order a hat online unless you are
ordering a specific size. It is better to measure your head and order your exact hat size. Otherwise, you might be disappointed and then have to go through the
hassle of returning the hat. You can find instructions on how to measure your head by visiting some of the links below.
