Hats For The Season

Sharing A Collection

In appreciation for so many ladies allowing me to photograph them in their hats, I am sharing my entire winter collection, which is quite small.   Growing up in an era when linen and seersucker was for summertime, and wool and tweeds for wintertime, I never wear straw hats in the fall and winter.  The one hat that I wear year-round is the black feather hat shown below.  As you can see, my winter collection is lacking in color.  Some green, red and blue would be welcome.

Again, thanks to everyone for being so gracious to the Church Hat photographer.

1.  Black wool with black netting and ruffled back.  Purchased at Sears in Houston.

2.  Camel wool with brown satin ban with bow in back.  Purchased at Foley's in downtown Houston.

3.  Purple wool with black horsehair netting and jeweled back.  Purchased from an individual seller in San Antonio.

4.  Black wool with black net band and bow in back.  Bow can be undone to let long netting flow in back.  Purchased at Sakowitz in downtown Houston.

5.  Brown wool with black lace draped around band and brim, with velvet bow in back.  Purchased at Sears in Houston.

6.  Brown faux fur pillbox.  Purchased at a flea market in Moss Point.

7.  White wool with black feathers and satin bow in back.  Purchased from individual seller in San Antonio.

8.  Black layered feathers in pillbox-type design with feathers framing one side of face. A gift from ex-husband James E. Moss.
