A Good Hat Deserves A Hatbox

Storing Your Hats

The best way to store a beautiful hat is in a hatbox.  It is important to have the correct size hatbox for each hat.  A hat stored in a box that is too small will result in a disfigured hat.  A box that is thin and flimsy will not be much protection for a hat if anything heavy is placed on top.  It is best to purchase the best quality hatbox possible on one's budget.  Of course, if purchasing a hatbox is totally out of the question, there are other creative ways to store hats that will not be discussed in this article.  For all intents and purposes, a hatbox is the best storage option.

Unfortunately, hatboxes are not that easy to find.  Sturdy cardboard boxes are usually the only hatboxes you will readily see in some department stores.  Thanks to the internet, you can now order almost anything imaginable.  Below are some links for online ordering.

When traveling, make sure your hatbox can withstand the abuse of baggage handling.  Otherwise, your hat is better off as carry-on luggage.  There are hatboxes made especially for traveling (Pocketrunks) that are designed to hold up to rugged transport.
