Hats and Gloves -- A Thing of The Past?

Hats and Gloves Used To Be A Team When Lenora Bonton mentioned she used to wear gloves to church, I immediately saw images of a time long ago when my grandmother
wore gloves to worship. It was quite common to see women in the congregation either wearing gloves or clutching them in their hands along with their handbags.
Indeed, times have changed. Of course, one's attire has absolutely nothing to do with one's spirituality -- or does it?. As the Pastor said a few Sundays ago,
women used to be refined. Although I have no desire to wear gloves every Sunday, occasionally wearing a pair might be in
order -- perhaps on special church occasions or even whenever one liked if the attire and mood fit. Seeing women properly dressed and wearing hats and gloves would be
far better than sleeve-less, back-out, cleavage showing, too-tight pants, and too-short skirts. Hatless and gloveless is not bad, but bra-less and wearing a halter top is
bad. I know, I know. What do clothes have to do with going to church to worship? There
was a time when I too thought that it didn't matter what you wore to church because the important thing was that you came. But I believe now that it does matter and
that God deserves our effort to dress appropriately when we come to His house. You wouldn't go to your office Christmas party dressed in what you wear to the grocery
store, would you? Is God not worth a hat and/or a pair of gloves? What we wear to church is not for our own glory, but for the glory of God (a personal opinion). Glove Links
